White on White....

I know March is almost over, but I couldn't let the month go by without giving the Aussie Dares challenge a go - and a challenge it was ;) this month's theme was white! and doing white on white was much harder than I though, but I tried to add interest with textures and dimension and even got out my quilling tool to create the little roses.... and btw that's a photo of me and my mum.... don't you just love the 70's hairdos :)

And for something different and much more colourful, I've had a play with some mixed media techniques for this month's art journal challenge at Blue Bazaar. I got my inspiration from the quote "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." by Henry David Thoreau.
Also while browsing at Target the other day I came across these cute exercise books.....they are part of the 'Teacher's Pet' stationery range by Cristina Re - and I don't what I'm going to use them for yet, but I just knew I 'had' to have one of each lol.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Well I've manged to keep my self busy since my last post and have plenty of work to share!

These are from the Little Scrapbook Shop's March Cyber Crop
and these are the pages I made for Sarah Gladman's Memory Gifts - and even though I didn't get to finish as many as I would have liked, I am happy to have been able to contribute to such a wonderful cause!!Also one of my favourite layouts has finally been published in this month's Scrapbook Creations :)and I found my waterfall layout on page 7 of Scrapbooking Memories.... (slowly nudging my way closer to the cover lol) although you wouldn't think they'd still keep spelling my name wrong ;)I've also done a few projects for Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft mag so keep an eye out for those too.

Also can you believe that since the start of March I have scrapped over 40 layouts!! :0 it's no wonder I'm feeling pretty scrapped out!! so once I finish a couple more things I've started I plan to work on some mixed media projects instead!

25 layouts....

Last month I signed up for Blue Bazaar's Crop Boot Camp - where the challenge was to create 25 layouts with a goal of using 50 sheets of patterned papers. I had planned to start mine earlier but 'life' had a habit of getting in the way ;) so two weeks ago I embarked on a scrapping marathon to get my 25 layouts complete - and even managed to use 53 patterned papers from my stash!! As you can see mine aren't overly complicated pages and that's ok.... the main thing is that they are done and I can go back and embellish them whenever I have the urge or the time. If you like the idea of putting a dint in your stash and getting your photos scrapped with some great incentives along the way - then stay tuned because Luise is planning another Boot Camp for May!!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Camping...

We had so much fun on our camping trip on the weekend :) We stayed at a beautiful spot along the banks of the Colo River, which had crystal clear water and an awesome sandy bottom.

The weather was perfect so the kids swam heaps and loved going out in the canoe - although the canoe freaked me out because it was wobbly and I was sure we would tip over.... mind you the water wasn't event that deep lol ;) and I really enjoyed the campfire, where we toasted marshmallows and cooked Polish kielbasa (a type of sausage) on sticks and loved the potatoes wrapped in foil and cooked in the flames - yum!!

So that was our first camping adventure and we definitely plan on doing it again sometime soon!!

One little Aussie Word...

Time for another new word over at One little Aussie Word
The challenge for March is to use the word RISE in your project.

Here's what I've come up with 'Rise to the challenge'

I'll be back in a few days with more new layouts.... in the meantime we are going camping :)
